Let’s help spread the Christmas spirit by creating bright, beautiful, and creative holiday lighting displays throughout Stafford! Residents and businesses are encouraged to register their decorated homes or yards to be included on the Stafford Holiday Lights Map.
More than just a friendly competition, it’s an opportunity to help neighbors and visitors discover festive displays and plan cozy viewing routes. The contest celebrates community pride, holiday fun, and the magic of the season for all ages.

All contest submissions will be featured on the Holiday Lights Map, guiding residents and visitors on a town-wide tour of dazzling displays—perfect for a cozy drive or cheerful evening walk.

Competition Guidlines
To ensure a fair and enjoyable competition for everyone, please review and adhere to the following rules:
Eligibility:

Open to all residents of Stafford.

Decorations must be displayed at a residential property within Stafford.
Registration:

All participants must register by submitting their entry November 28 - December 15, 2024 (link will be posted).

Photos must be submitted to events@staffordct.org by December 15, 2025. We encourage a photo taken at night.
Judging Period:

Judging will occur from December 17-22, 2025.

Ensure that all decorations are visible from the street for the judges and the public to viewing.
Categories:
People's Choice Voting:

Voting will be open online from December 17-23, 2025. Residents will cast their votes using a form that includes photos of all entries, making it easy to view and select their favorite displays. The form link will be posted on the top of this page, Explore Stafford FB, Explore Stafford IG, and staffordct.org
Decorations:

Decorations must be family-friendly and appropriate for all ages.

No hazardous or offensive materials are allowed.

Participants are responsible for the safety and security of their decorations.
Announcement of Winners:
Winners will be announced online on December 23, 2025, on this webpage, and the Explores Stafford Facebook page.
Compliance:
Participants must comply with all local laws and regulations.
Failure to adhere to the rules may result in disqualification from the competition.
