Stafford Holiday Lights Map

Let’s help spread the Christmas spirit by creating bright, beautiful, and creative holiday lighting displays throughout Stafford! Residents and businesses are encouraged to register their decorated homes or yards to be included on the Stafford Holiday Lights Map.

More than just a friendly competition, it’s an opportunity to help neighbors and visitors discover festive displays and plan cozy viewing routes. The contest celebrates community pride, holiday fun, and the magic of the season for all ages.

🏆 Contest Categories:

  • Merry & Bright – Most dazzling and high-energy display

  • Holiday Traditions – Classic greens, vintage charm, and timeless holiday style

  • People’s Choice – Voted favorite by the community​

 

All contest submissions will be featured on the Holiday Lights Map, guiding residents and visitors on a town-wide tour of dazzling displays—perfect for a cozy drive or cheerful evening walk.

📅 Important Dates:​

  • Registration Opens: Monday, December 1

  • Entry Deadline: Friday, December 15

  • Map & Voting Open: December 17

  • Voting Closes: December 22

  • Winners Announced: December 23

​​Competition Guidlines

​

To ensure a fair and enjoyable competition for everyone, please review and adhere to the following rules:

​​

Eligibility:

  • Open to all residents of Stafford.

  • Decorations must be displayed at a residential property within Stafford.

 

Registration:

  • All participants must register by submitting their entry November 28 - December 15, 2024 (link will be posted).

  • Photos must be submitted to events@staffordct.org by December 15, 2025. We encourage a photo taken at night.

Judging Period:

  • Judging will occur from December 17-22, 2025.

  • Ensure that all decorations are visible from the street for the judges and the public to viewing.

 

Categories:

  • People's Choice: Determined by community vote on the Explore Stafford social media pages, this category lets everyone help choose their favorite display. Creativity, effort, and visual appeal all count—the home with the most votes wins!

  • Merry & Bright: For those who believe there’s no such thing as too many lights! Big, bold, and colorful displays that dazzle the neighborhood with energy, sparkle, and over-the-top holiday cheer.

  • Holiday Tradition: Classic and timeless—soft lights, wreaths, garlands, and nostalgic décor that capture the warmth and charm of a traditional Christmas. Simple, elegant, and full of heart.

People's Choice Voting:

  • Voting will be open online from December 17-23, 2025. Residents will cast their votes using a form that includes photos of all entries, making it easy to view and select their favorite displays. The form link will be posted on the top of this page, Explore Stafford FB, Explore Stafford IG, and staffordct.org 

 

Decorations:

  • Decorations must be family-friendly and appropriate for all ages.

  • No hazardous or offensive materials are allowed.

  • Participants are responsible for the safety and security of their decorations.

 

Announcement of Winners:

Winners will be announced online on December 23, 2025, on this webpage, and the Explores Stafford Facebook page.

 

Compliance:

Participants must comply with all local laws and regulations.

Failure to adhere to the rules may result in disqualification from the competition.
