Celebrate the season in Downtown Stafford!

 

WinterFest

The brightest night in Stafford returns to ring in the holiday season on Saturday, December 12, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. A festive hometown tradition, WinterFest features live performances, visits with Santa, a community bonfire, food trucks, the Parade of Lights, and hundreds of luminaries throughout Main Street. 

Special Events Schedule

 

Museum  Open House  |  3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. 

Peruse two floors of exhibits, artifacts, and learn about our town's rich history at the Stafford Historical Society Museum at 5 Spring Street. 

Live Nativity  |  3:00 p.m. 

Live Nativity Performance with real actors and animals on the lawn of the First United Methodist Church at 8 Church Street. 

Hyde Park Wagon Rides | 3:00 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.  &  5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Bundle up and take a festive wagon ride! Truly a charming and memorable experience, passengers should meet near the Historical Society (5 Spring Street). Rides will be offered before and after the parade, and on a first come, first serve basis. Scheduled time may vary. 

Parade of Lights  |  4:30 p.m. 

From Olympic Circle, down Main Street to Town Hall, with entrants lighted for evening viewing. In Haymarket Common, enjoy a simultaneous performance from the SHS Band & Color Guard. Intended to promote positivity and togetherness, all businesses, clubs, civic groups, and residents are welcome to register and join the lighted convoy! Viewing are everywhere between Olympic Circle and Town Hall!

Caroling, Mix + Mingle  (approximately 5:30 p.m.)

Community carol sing with the SHS Choir, community bonfire, and visits with Santa In Haymarket Common (31 Main Street), immediately following the parade. 

Street Treats

In addition to Stafford restaurants, enjoy selections from the Taylor Spring Farm Food Truck and Kona Ice's cold-weather menu.

Parking & Navigation

 

Parking Ban

A Main Street parking ban will begin at 2:00 p.m. A Main Street road closure is scheduled from 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

 

Road Closure 

Traffic headed Route 32 North/Route 190 West (Downtown Roundabout) detoured traffic will head north on Furnace Avenue, then East on Orcuttville Road to Route 190.

 

Traffic from Route 32 South/Route 190 headed East, detoured traffic will take West Street, left on Route 140 East, to Route 190.

Parking: Free public parking is available at various downtown lots: 

  • The Commuter Lot - 16 River Road/Route 32 Please note: parking in this location requires walking the shoulder of Route 32 toward Main Street.

  • Stafford Family Services/Woodlawn Trail Head - 21 Hyde Park Road

  • Hobbs Medical - 8 Spring Street

  • Public Municipal Lot - 2 Spring Street

  • Stafford Town Hall  - 1 Main Street

  • Stafford Savings Bank lot - Willington Avenue

  • Stafford Savings Bank lot - East Main Street

  • American Woolen - 21 Furnace Avenue

  • American Woolen - 20 Furnace Avenue

  • Side Roads unless otherwise marked

Local PD and the Stafford C.E.R.T. will be present to ensure the safety of those attending Stafford WinterFest.
